Yesterday, I managed to make it to rehearsal for the first time in a while - I've been away in Ireland working and it's slightly too far to travel, even for LTC!
I was a bit late and I came in to the choir in full song on "Past Times with Good Company". When you're sitting and singing in the choir sometimes you don't appreciate how good it sounds to the listener. And it sounded brilliant, cheering up that very functional conference room in Palestra no end.
Perhaps everyone should stand at the front and have a listen at least once each term. Very inspiring.
That's for Make Music Day. Following straight on we'll be getting ready for the International Concert, with Paris and Brussels, on Saturday 6th October. Music for that is the Fauré Requiem plus a selection of songs including La Mer. Formal invitations to our sister choirs go out in the next few days. Rehearsals will be in July and resuming early September.
