I trust you all had a great summer and had wonderful breaks, if you got away, or enjoyed a staycation or just had a quieter time in the office enjoying the peace and quiet of August.
It feels like a long time since we sang at John and Averil’s farewell concert in Welwyn and it’s been a hectic time for me since then both at work and singing, having sung three more concerts since Welwyn. I know some of you came out to see AmyBeth singing her heart out at St Etheldreda’s Church in Hatfield, where I am advised she and Jill Sergru were brilliant. Merel, if you haven’t already been advised, walked Hadrian’s Wall, all or some I’m not sure, this summer in aid of Dementia I believe, a great achievement and cause. Well my friends, the autumn term is nearly upon us and I am pleased to say that we have at least two events between now and our usual Christmas services. 1) Michael Keyte’s celebration concert on 19 October. 2) The prestigious Great War commemorative railway industry service at Southwark Cathedral on the 6 November. Rehearsals start again on 3 September, 10th Floor 55 Broadway, at 1745hrs for an 1800hrs start. Other rehearsal dates have already been circulated and are also on this website under choir resources. I trust as many of you as possible will be able to attend. Unfortunately (or not as the case may be) I shall be in Croatia that week so won’t see you till the following week. Please do check the web page for further details of rehearsals and events www.londonstransportchoir.org
